Using Ipega 9023 on Recalbox

Today, I tried to connect my new Ipega 9023 to Recalbox installed on a Raspberry Pi 3. It happen that it is not so easy. Here are the steps to perform.

Connect to your Raspberry with SSH with root account (default password is recalboxroot). Remount file system with write access :

mount -o remount,rw /

Add the following line to /etc/udev/rules.d/99-joysticks-exotics.rules :

SUBSYSTEM=="input", ATTRS{name}=="ipega Extending Game controller", MODE="0666", ENV{ID_INPUT_JOYSTICK}="1"

The exact name of your gamepad can be found after pairing, using the dmesg command. So you may be able to use this method with any other.

And set the following value in /recalbox/share/system/recalbox.conf :

global.inputdriver=sdl2

Reboot. Done.
